about

This set is named after a very loyal and vicious, yet sedate, watchdog in Newcestown, Eoin's hometown. The first Barn Dance was written by Martin Power in Dublin to celebrate the 26th Birthday of Katherine Irwin Thomas. Martin, a well known music teacher and piano accordion player from Cork, who taught Eoin and Brian from a young age has become a good friend of the band and has kindly let us use his Barn Dance on the album. The second is by Ed Reavy, a fiddle player and composer. He was born in the village of Barnagrove, County Cavan, in the year 1897. He moved with his parents to Philadelphia in 1912, where he lived until his passing in 1988.
